Forge Fitness is a Colorado Springs community of Functional Fitness enthusiasts of every level. In addition to Functional Fitness, Forge Fitness offers pathways to elite training for both adults and youth. Fueled by the passion and energy of its member base, Forge Fitness attempts to raise the ships of the entire Colorado Springs community.

What is Functional Fitness?

Unlock Your Potential by discovering the power of Functional Fitness in Colorado Springs. Elevate your training, build strength, and enhance your performance with dynamic workouts tailored to your goals.

Our classes have four fundamental elements: a warm up, strength work, workout of the day (WOD), and cool down. Each workout is scalable so everyone can join in, despite their fitness level. There are also “Hero” and “Benchmark WODs” that are staples of functional fitness.

Functional Fitness is a holistic approach to human development that focuses on movements that mimic real-life activities, rather than isolating muscle groups.

  • Variety

Functional Fitness workouts include a variety of exercises, such as weightlifting, running, rowing, and gymnastics.

  • Intensity

Functional Fitness workouts are constantly varied and performed at a high intensity. This should not intimidate you, though. Every class is scalable to your competence and ability, as you grow into the monster you strive to be.

Naturally, the goal for our members is to develop functional fitness that can help you in everyday life, during training, or in emergency situations.

Group Fitness Benefits and the Intimidation Factor

One of the biggest hurdles to committing to functional fitness tends to be a fear of being judged by a group. Forge Fitness is very intentional about cultivating a culture that is supportive and not destructive. A membership base is diverse, ranging from the highest level athlete to the entry level lifestyle oriented athlete. Although it may be intimidating, it shouldn’t be. You are much more likely to catch a side eye at a large gym with members staring in the mirror and flexing for their social media followers. This gym welcomes all new members with open arms.

Whenever we poll even our most introverted and shy members, they describe the effects of group training as giving them increased motivation, accountability, enriching social interaction, reduced stress levels, a sense of community, and the desire to push themselves harder due to the energy of others around them, making it more likely to honor fitness goals.
